Memory Board Tutorial

Life is memorable.

Life is short.

Life is a gift.

So why not cherish it?

Meeting new people, laughing at some funny joke, staying up with close friends at 2a.m., going on a cool vacation or road trip with family, celebrating birthdays . . . These are all be special moments in our lives. For me, some special moments would be spending time with my family and youth group and doing things and going places together. We cherish and remember important times in our lives with pictures. Why not go a bit farther and embellish them and put them on a board in your room or office to remind you of those good times you shared with others. In this post I will go through a way to help you make your own personal memo board.

First you will need to cut your batting and your fabric to the appropriate size to fit your board. Make sure that it covers the front side and then folds over to the back so you can staple the material to the back.

For my memory board, I decided to use buttons. Tacks work just as well, however, I am going the button route. For those who want to follow in my footsteps, continue reading how to sew the buttons on the board. Grab some buttons that go well with your fabric and make a pattern. Now get ready to learn how to sew these cute little buttons on the board!

Start the needle underneath the ribbon to hide the knot. Attach the button and sew in and out through the four holes. Sew the button at least 1 or 2 times around.
